"When the morning sun brings the snow to glitter, then get on the skis and glide with a wide smile down the mountain!"

The Schmiedhofalm is in the ski area of Zell am See-Kaprun. This area consists of the Schmittenhöhe, the Kitzsteinhorn and the Maiskogel. We are situated on the southern side of the Schmittenhöhe.  An amazing location for skiing. Not only great for the experienced skiers but also ideal for the family. Wide slopes, fun slope, ski movie as well as a fun park allows for fun and change from just skiing down a slope.

The quickest route to us is with the Sonnenalmbahn and then with the 6 seated chair lift, Hochmaisbahn. Naturally it is also possible to reach us via the Schmittenhöhebahn and here you have several possibilities.

Our tip for our skiers:

  1. Start Schmittenhöhenbahn mountain station
  2. Take the Ketting downhill (#8)
  3. Then take the Kettingbahn or Kapellenbahn up
  4. Along the newly made ski way (#5)
  5. Down the family run (#20)
  6. And then up with the Hochmaisbahn

In keeping with the snow conditions, the November week-ends are open to ski business and the snow machines are up and running to guarantee snow for the coming season. This is a super mix of natural and manmade snow which is an ideal base for the slopes. Beginning of December at the latest, the whole ski area is then open.
